01Who we are and what these terms cover

VoiceIQ is operated from California, United States, by David Smith, trading as VoiceIQ ("VoiceIQ", "we", "us"). You can reach us at support@voiceiq.dev.

These terms govern your use of voiceiq.dev and everything offered through it: voice models, generated audio, the Studio, member profiles, chat, announcements, credits, memberships and support. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy, which together form the whole agreement between us.

02Definitions

  • Voice modelA model created from recordings or a designed voice that can generate speech in that voice.
  • GenerationOne request to turn text into speech using a voice model, charged in credits.
  • CreditsPrepaid service units used for generations and model creation. Credits are not money.
  • Pack creditsCredits bought outright in a one-time credit pack. They do not expire.
  • Monthly creditsCredits included with a paid Plus or Premium billing period. They expire on a schedule described in section 8.
  • Plus / PremiumThe two optional paid memberships. Their benefits are listed in section 8 and on the Billing page.
  • Public databaseThe shared library of voices every member can generate with. It contains voice models that members have submitted and staff have approved, original VoiceIQ voices, and preset voices from the official library of our speech provider, Fish Audio: synthetic designed voices and professionally licensed recordings. No preset is a clone of a celebrity or public figure.
  • StaffOwner and administrator accounts that moderate the service.

03Eligibility and your account

Age

You must be at least 13 years old to use VoiceIQ. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf and supervises your use of the service. By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Keeping your account secure

Accounts use a username and password. Keep your login details private, give us accurate information, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Do not use another person's account or work around an account restriction.

Recovery email

A recovery email is optional at sign-up, but you must add and verify a real email address before buying credits or a membership. Password-reset emails go only to a verified recovery address. Without one, you may not be able to recover your account if you forget your password. You can add or change your email in Account settings.

One account per person

Account creation is limited by our abuse controls, including one account per network address. If a shared network stops you from signing up, contact support and we will help.

04Voices and consent

In plain terms: if it is not your voice, you need that person's clear permission before you clone it.

Upload recordings and create voice models only when you own the necessary rights or have the voice owner's informed permission for this specific use. When you confirm authorisation during model creation, you are making a statement we rely on. We may ask for evidence of consent, decline a model, or remove one at any time.

Do not create or use a voice model to deceive people about who is speaking, to impersonate someone for fraud, harassment or exploitation, or to make it appear that a real person said something they did not. Do not present synthetic audio as an authentic recording when doing so would mislead anyone.

05Acceptable use

You agree not to use VoiceIQ to:

  • infringe anyone's privacy, intellectual property, publicity or other rights;
  • commit fraud, deceptive impersonation, harassment, exploitation or unlawful surveillance;
  • create or distribute content that is unlawful, sexual content involving minors, or content that incites violence or hatred;
  • interfere with the service, probe or bypass its security or safeguards, or scrape it at scale;
  • resell, sublicense or share access to your account, or use automated tools to farm credits or referral rewards;
  • submit personal information about another person without authority to do so.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content and restricting or closing accounts, as described in section 15.

06Your content and the licences you give us

You keep your rights

You retain whatever rights you hold in the recordings, text, models and audio you create ("your content"). These terms do not transfer ownership of your content to us.

What you allow us to do

You give VoiceIQ and our service providers a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, reproduce and display your content only as needed to provide the features you request, keep the service running, handle support, and enforce these terms. That licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept under our retention rules.

Public models

Choosing to submit a model to the public database authorises staff to review it and, if approved, to list it and allow other members to generate speech with it. You can ask staff to return an approved model to private. Audio other members generated before that point may be outside our control.

Generated audio

Generated audio may contain errors or resemble other material. You are responsible for checking outputs and obtaining any permissions needed for your use of them. These terms do not give you ownership of anyone else's voice, and do not guarantee that generated output is unique to you.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

07Credits and payments

The final price and any applicable tax are shown before payment. Prices may change for future purchases; the price shown at the time you buy is the one that applies to that purchase.

How credits are used

Credits are consumed after a successful operation. They may be temporarily reserved while work is in progress or a failure is being reviewed. If a reservation does not clear, contact support. Expiring monthly credits are always used before permanent pack credits.

Credits are not money

Credits are service units, not currency. They cannot be transferred between accounts or redeemed for cash, except where a refund applies under our Refund Policy or the law. Free sign-up credits and referral credits have no purchase price. Sandbox credits and subscriptions exist only in the test preview and have no value on the live site.

Payment methods

Stripe processes card payments for VoiceIQ. Direct Bitcoin, Ethereum-mainnet ETH and Litecoin payments are also available at checkout. Crypto payments use an exact quoted amount that includes an order-matching adjustment; network fees are additional. Send one payment, then submit the transaction ID to start automatic verification. Direct-crypto memberships are a prepaid calendar month and do not renew automatically.

Renewal and cancellation

Plus and Premium bought through Stripe renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel at any time with Manage subscription on the Billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your benefits, tag and name effect stay active until the end of the period you already paid for. Credits already granted keep their stated expiry date.

Monthly credits and included creations

Each successfully paid monthly invoice adds the membership's monthly credits. Unused monthly credits expire one calendar month after that invoice's billing period ends. Included model creations reset each paid month and do not roll over.

Voice design and pins

Voice design needs an active membership. Slots are storage limits for designed voices, not extra creations; designing a voice uses the same creation allowance or credit price. Deleting a designed voice frees its slot. Existing models are not deleted when a membership ends, but creating new designed voices needs active access. Public-model pins and creation discounts end when paid access ends.

Promotions and the Premium launch

Promotional prices and how long they last are shown before checkout. A first-month discount applies only to the qualifying first payment; later months renew at the disclosed regular price unless cancelled. Members who had active Plus when Premium launched receive Premium benefits on their existing subscription at their unchanged price and renewal date, for as long as that subscription continues.

Staff accounts

Owner and administrator accounts have unlimited credits and staff limits for moderation purposes. Those allowances are not available for purchase.

09Generation history and favourites

Successful generations are saved privately with their prompt, voice, settings, date and audio so you can replay, download or regenerate them. History is kept by capacity, not by time: when a new generation would exceed your plan's allowance, the oldest non-favourited entries and their audio are removed first. Favourites are protected from that clean-up and count toward your history total, so protected favourites can push history above the ordinary allowance.

If your plan changes to one with a lower favourite limit, existing favourites are kept, but you cannot add more until you are below the new limit. Regenerate restores a saved prompt and settings for editing; submitting it is a new generation at the displayed credit cost. A removed or unavailable voice may need to be replaced first.

History is not a backup. Saving can fail even when generation succeeds. If you see a history-save warning, download the audio from the player straight away. Keep your own copies of anything important.

10Referral rewards and promotions

A valid invite code must be attached during sign-up. Each new account can have one referrer and self-referrals are not allowed. Both accounts must verify their email addresses and the new member must complete a first generation before a reward becomes eligible. Standard referrals give 50 bonus credits to each account. The Folder code 89XMT9WB, available at voiceiq.dev/folder, gives 100 credits to each account. Rewards are credits, not cash or commission.

A referrer can accept up to 10 rewarded referrals per calendar month on Free, 100 on Plus or 200 on Premium. Limits reset on UTC calendar months. Fake accounts, spam or other attempts to evade these limits forfeit rewards and may lead to account action. When you share an invite, say clearly that you receive credits if the referral qualifies. A qualifying referral is rewarded once; tell support if a reward is missing.

Refunds of discounted purchases are based on the amount actually paid. Changes to future offers do not remove rewards already earned.

11Community features

Member chat, profiles, the online panel and the public database are shared spaces. What you post there is visible to other signed-in members as described in the Privacy Policy. Be respectful, keep chat on topic, and do not post spam, advertising, or other people's private information. Staff may remove messages, reset profile pictures, restrict chat access or restrict accounts to keep those spaces safe.

12Our intellectual property

The VoiceIQ name, mark, design, software and documentation belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service under these terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from the service, or use our branding without written permission. Using VoiceIQ gives you no rights in the underlying voice technology provided by our processing partners.

13Copyright and voice complaints

If you believe a model or audio on VoiceIQ uses your voice, your recording or your copyrighted work without permission, email support@voiceiq.dev with:

  • the link or name of the model or content;
  • a description of the work or voice you say is being used, and why you hold the rights to it;
  • your contact details and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith.

We review complaints promptly, may remove or restrict content while we investigate, and may notify the member who uploaded it. Repeat infringers lose their accounts. Where the Digital Millennium Copyright Act applies, this address also serves as our contact for takedown notices.

14Third-party services

VoiceIQ relies on partners to work: Fish Audio processes recordings and text for voice models and speech, Stripe handles card payments, and Supabase, Vercel and Resend provide authentication, hosting and email. Their own terms apply to the parts they operate, such as the Stripe checkout page. Blockchain networks used for crypto payments are public systems that we do not control. The Privacy Policy lists what each partner receives.

15Changes, restrictions and termination

Changes to the service

We may add, change or remove features and adjust prices for future purchases. Service interruptions can happen. If we cannot deliver a paid service, contact us for a remedy under the Refund Policy and the law.

Changes to these terms

We will show the effective date of updated terms and give notice of material changes where required, for example by announcement or email. Updates do not take away rights relating to purchases made before the change. Continuing to use VoiceIQ after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Restrictions and closure by us

We may restrict, suspend or close accounts and remove content to address abuse, security issues, legal requirements or breaches of these terms. Where reasonable we will tell you why and, unless the breach is serious, give you a chance to fix it.

Closing your account

You can stop using VoiceIQ at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support. Deletion is explained in the Privacy Policy. Closing an account does not by itself refund earlier payments.

16Warranties and liability

We work hard to keep VoiceIQ reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, perfect voice similarity, or that outputs suit every purpose. Except as set out in these terms and to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as is. You remain responsible for how you use generated audio and for any consequences of that use.

To the extent the law allows, VoiceIQ is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Your statutory rights. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or gross negligence. Where mandatory consumer protection law conflicts with these terms, the law wins.

17Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you also keep the protection of mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence.

If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@voiceiq.dev. Most issues are resolved in support within a few days. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, either of us may bring it in the state or federal courts located in California, or in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction. Consumers in the European Union, United Kingdom or other jurisdictions with mandatory venue rules may bring claims in their home courts.

18General terms

  • Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and VoiceIQ about the service.
  • Severability. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your account or this agreement. We may transfer it as part of a business transfer, with the protections described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Export and sanctions. You may not use VoiceIQ where doing so would breach export-control or sanctions laws.
  • Language. These terms are written in English. Translations are for convenience only.
